Ed Cabral's Medical Journey

Over the last 2 ½ years Ed Cabral has been in and out of the hospital. Just recently Ed spent 34 days at Massachusetts General Hospital. He has had a life-saving brain surgery to remove a brain abcess. This surgery included a piece of skull be removed to allow the brain to swell so as not to cause additional damage. He has had 2 brain bleeds, 3 strokes, 11 blood clots, pneumonia and 3 serious a-fib situations.
Ed is finally home. Despite everything he has been through, he will have a long road ahead to relearn the most basic daily skills. There will be months of intensive physical and occupational therapy to help Ed regain some of what he has lost. Life as Ed knew it is forever changed but Ed is persevering and he is a fighter!
Ed is grateful for the amazing group of family and friends that have prayed for him and provided emotional support to his family throughout this roller coaster ride of life threatening health issues he has endured.
The financial stress of Ed’s medical condition has been overwhelming for his family. Ed and Jane (Ed’s devoted wife to his care) are extremely private people especially when it comes to asking for help.
