Our community needs your support!

There’s no doubt in our minds that many of us are feeling lost and confused during this time of uncertainty. 

Within Edmonton’s inner-city community, the waters are just as muddy. With over 1600 people not having a place to call home, the wide-spread COVID-19 pandemic has sparked fear amongst the many of Edmonton’s most vulnerable populations. 

At Mint Communities, we’re taking a stance against COVID-19 and homelessness. Our team is working tirelessly to support our community during this difficult time, but WE NEED YOUR HELP!

You see, those struggling with homelessness are amongst the population most at risk of severe forms of COVID-19, because many struggle with health complications that affect their immune system. Outside of this, those struggling with homelessness or financial barriers are often frequenting large gatherings such as soup kitchens and other community resources where social distancing practices are often not possible or practical.

At Mint Communities, a non-profit housing initiative, our mandate has always been to work with Edmonton’s most vulnerable population and provide them with the housing, social and health support they require to get them back on their feet. Unique community-focused initiatives are one of the ways we have been working together with non-profits, businesses, public health organizations, and the government to make a difference in the lives of Albertans. 

Right now, we need your help. 

With limited resources, we can only do so much, and so we’re calling on our community to support us with our mission. 

We know that this is a difficult time where many are in need, if you aren’t able to donate, we kindly ask that you share our campaign with friends, families, and colleagues to raise awareness.  



From a person’s perspective, Mint Communities aids them in:

Non-for profit housing with direct access to our Mint Health and Drugs: CMP pharmacy location for medical support staffed with prescribing pharmacists and an on-site physician

Over 60 pounds of food delivered within a month (in collaboration with Edmonton Food Bank)

Access to Street Works’s free supply of clean needles and equipment for harm reduction

Social support program and anticipated development of counseling and career management

No cost delivery of food hampers, medication, and medical supplies and devices

Your generous donation will go towards on-going and future operations such as:

Expanding our capacity to offer non-profit housing to those in need

Increase our supply of additional food to combat malnourishment 

Strengthening our relationship with the members of our community by expanding our social support department for existing tenants to include counseling sessions, nutritional assessment, and companionship programs.

Increased staffing for our program to help support those that need it the most. 
Visual media projects that will promote more awareness for the stories and lived experiences of our tenants

Providing our tenants with programs outside the realm of traditional services such as:
Art workshops, which allow for artistic expression and increases a sense of community among the tenants.
