Send Abby to Idol

Singing has always been such a huge part of my life and continues to teach me to work hard every day. My family has offered me unwavering support through all of my endeavors, and singing has proved no different. Every time I sing, I do it for them, because they are the reason I am where I am today. I sang in the church choir with my Dad for many years, and my mom helped put me through voice lessons at the Eastman School of Music. They knew this was what I loved to do and they never held me back from shooting for the stars. The reason I was so eager to audition for this season of American Idol was so that my mom could experience it with me while we still had the chance. Sadly, my mom has recently reached the end of her tough battle with cancer and is now watching over me every step of the way. She has always wanted me to go for as many auditions as I can and I want to show her what I can accomplish with this opportunity in front of me.
I decided to audition for The American Idol Experience because not only was it another chance to perform and do what I love, but because the American Idol Experience was closing down within the next couple of days so this was my last chance.
Going straight to the producers is getting me one step closer to the audition in front of the judges and this is the chance of a lifetime. Unfortunately, I do not have the funds to send myself to California in such short notice but with your help I can take this opportunity and show them what I have to offer!
