For the past 5 to 6 years, The Edge of America Fencing Club has worked diligently to build the fencing community in the Charleston area. Our goal was always to make fencing available to everyone while being affordable to whomever wanted to pick up a weapon and fence. In the summer of 2019, we moved to a 7,000 sq. ft. facility to better serve our growing fencing community by providing a safe space for training and hosting tournaments for Charleston and South Carolina. Due to Covid-19, the mandatory shut downs, and the expensive and newly implemented safety measures, our club is in danger of losing our new facility.
We are asking for you help! If you are able to donate, please consider doing so. If you are unable, there are a few other ways you can help. Sharing our GoFundMe with your friends and family will help spread our message and reaching as many people as possible. Letting people know about the programs and classes we offer will help us get more people to fence. You can share our website and Facebook page to let people know about this wonderful sport.
All donations will go to paying back rent that has been missed during the shutdown, rent moving forward, and fencing equipment so we can expand our program in Charleston.
Edge of America Fencing is the culmination of efforts put forth by the formerly modest fencing community here in Charleston, SC to share the knowledge of our sport. Since establishing in 2015, we have expanded to include college graduates regaining their healthy social outlet, curious beginners who have always been drawn to the sport, and droves of bright and energetic youngsters!
With many new faces joining every month, we are well on our way to being one of the strongest fencing clubs in the south east. The goal of our coaching staff is to take those fresh to the fencing strip and turn them into competent competitors. As well as to help those with experience temper new tools to keep their fencing sharp. At The Edge of America Fencing Club, we strive to create an environment where anyone can come to achieve their fencing goals.
