Edgar David Van Leuvan Jr. was born in Brooklyn, New York on October 1st, 1943. He was the eldest of 14 children, a decorated Vietnam Vet of the United States Navy, a husband, a father, and a grandfather. He loved and welcomed all into his family throughout his life time.
Last week during a routine CT Scan, it was discovered that a stint had slipped on his Aorta from a previous procedure . Sensing the need for further examination, he was scheduled for a follow up and possible surgery less than a week later, which was today May 22nd, 2017. This morning Edgar experienced abdonmial pain and had to be rushed to the hospital by his daughter, Desiree. He passed not long after in the morning.
Edgar touched so many in his life through his work, his friendships, and always gave back to those in need. His empathy, compassion, and love went beyond a normal person's threshold.
He survived the passing of his beautiful wife, Diane, who passed away 20 years ago.
The family and extended family ask for your support in this time of grief to give whatever way you can.
Edgar was a proud man who gave and never asked for anything in return. Now is the time where we, his family, need as much help as possible. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for all who knew him, please know that he loved you.
He is survived by his children and grandchilden.
