Eden’s Facial Gender Affirming Surgery

Hello my name is Eden, I am a Latino/Tejano non-binary transgender person. The purpose of this fundraiser is to gain financial support towards my facial feminization surgeries.

Non-binary and trans are two special parts of my identity that have been a challenge to accept. Coming to understand my identity more as a cultural, physical and spiritual journey has helped me to appreciate these feelings and given me the courage to pursue physical changes that would helped me feel more aligned with my internal experience. I have made some big steps towards the changes I want but some of them seem out of reach due to cost. I will be saving up  for the surgeries and I imagine it will take some time so any amount helps!

It has been challenging for me to accept that it is okay to ask for help due to the shame regarding my identity. Lately, I’ve felt more empowered and have been supported by some amazing friends, family and professionals. I am coming to understand that my gender identity is valid, an important part of what makes me, me and completely worth reaching towards.

Getting these surgeries would help me feel closer to the person I am. I understand my identity and goals for my appearance may be confusing for some people who are close to me. If you would like to know more, feel free to ask me personally and I’d be happy to share whatever I am comfortable with. A brief explanation of my experience of being non-binary and trans is feeling like I treasure varying portions of my femininity and masculinity and that I want to embody different variations of these aspects that differ from the way I was raised. I’ll be spending the money on a couple different facial surgeries to help me feel better aligned with my gender identity (I included a list of each of them).
