Eden MacDonald’s Family

As some of you may have heard, our friends the MacDonalds (Steve and Christa) dealt with a traumatic medical emergency involving their 17 year old daughter Eden. On Monday morning she had fallen and hit her head. The paramedics believed that she had a seizure, and she was unresponsive. After a while  she was able to respond and to get up with help. In the ambulance she had another seizure-like episode on the way to the hospital. 

It was later suspected that she had been born with an asymptotic brain arteriovenous malformation (AVM).  AMV is a tangle of abnormal blood vessels connecting arteries and veins in the brain which then resulted in a rupture and intracranial hemorrhage.

After the initial event on Monday morning her brain continued to bleed causing strokes that resulted in further damage. 

Eden endured two surgeries to control the bleeding and has been on sedation and medication in hopes of reducing the pressure in
her brain. 

On Wednesday, Eden’s doctors determined that there was nothing more that could be done. They have been unable to reduce the pressure in the brain and it continued to damage it.

There is sadly no hope of recovery.  The family is in the process
letting her go and are blessed  that she will be released to
her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Eden from birth. She has an amazing heart and love for those around her.  She grew up in a church family and understood the love of her savior.  Her sweet personality will be missed by many.

family. They truly know the spirit of Jesus and give of themselves
often. My wish is that they have no burden from any lingering medical bills, time off from work and have the opportunity to mourn what they lost.
