Unicorn in Israel

Donation protected

My closest childhood friend has triple-negative terminal cancer. She is known as the unicorn amongst her medical team since she is definitely rare all around; from details of diagnosis to a genetic mutation that makes treatment difficult, to a tremendously resilient spirit.

This year I have watched her bravely lose her hair, her breast but not her hope. It has been like a body carnival game of whack-a-mole, with another type of cancer popping up as soon as you think you have heard the worst. Sternum cancer. Skull cancer. Breast cancer. And she has been a health nut way before it was trendy. It makes no sense.

She and I both have daughters within a year of each other and going to Israel with our daughters is a bucket list dream for Eden. I lived briefly in Israel in 2000, and since then have visited twice a year for two decades. It is a grand honor to be able to host her through an itinerary that is meaningful both for her heritage and her heart.

Since I am a sourdough bread baker, I am donating proceeds from all my bread from January 1st until we take off as well as offering a Wild Yeast & Ancient Bread Making Workshop Series to learn how to make different breads. Participants need to bring their own basic bread making tools. I will provide a list.
