Mission Starfish Haiti

Family and Friends,
On November 4th, I will be joining 4 other women as we travel to Haiti on a mission trip as a part of Mission Starfish. This mission began in 2012 and has worked to provide high quality, free education to the children of Gonaives, Haiti. In the past three years, 95% of the children who attend Mission Starfish Haiti attend regularly and complete their grade level. While there we will lend a hand to families and children in Gonaives and Jacmel.
While in Gonaives, our time will be spent providing light to the community, building a home for a family of 8, assesting with electronics in the schools, providing hygiene services and tools to the community children and distributing school uniforms to the school. I especially look forward to my time spent building the house. The opportunity that I will have to provide a home for a family will be something that will leave a lasting impact.
The second part of the mission will be spent in Jacmel. Here we will focus our time at the local orphanage. The Hands and Feet Project was founded in 2004, and they provide long-term family style care for the abandoned and orphaned children of Jacmel. Not only will we paint, clean and assest with the children; but we will be moving two families in to homes that the orphanage finances.
I am asking today for your support. Donations will go toward covering my travel expenses and toward the multiple group projects we will be sponsoring. These projects include: building a home ($3,500), electricity for family ($1,000), school unifroms ($1,000), small electronic devices for schools ($1,000) and personal hygiene items ($500). I understand that we all have certain financial obligations in life but, if you are able to donate in any way we would sincerly appreciate it. Donations can be made via this website or checks made out to myself. I hope you all know how much this opportunity means to me and how much I would appreciate your support.
