Hello,
My name is Jasmine Andrea Arce and I am a senior at Texas A&M University-Kingsville (TAMUK). I'm majoring in History with minors in French, Anthropology, and Journalism. My goal is to complete my degree and move on to graduate school for a chance at completing a doctoral program.
My time spent here at TAMUK has taught me so much about life and its highs & lows. I've had some of the most incredible moments exploring this campus, its traditions, and my own perseverance as a student. I feel that these experiences have matured me and made me a better, more hardworking person.
Getting to this point has been a blessing, but it has not been easy. My family and I have made incredible sacrifices for me to pursue this higher education. On one occasion, I had to retire from the university to build myself up financially enough to return. It was a difficult time because I felt I had so much potential, and I had been a near-perfect student. These challenges only made me want to come back stronger, and luckily I was able to do so. However, my financial troubles and the increasing cost of tuition have continued to make these last few years quite strenuous.
The purpose of this fundraiser is to help me get over the final hurdle preventing me from graduating this December 2020. I've kept my grades consistent for the last few years and my GPA remains above a 3.9. Moreover, I'm taking the final five courses needed to graduate and I'n doing my best to also end these with high marks.
Your support would help me achieve decade-old goals and dreams! It would help me take the next step forward in life. I know how difficult this year has been for all of us, and that makes my appreciation even stronger. I hope wherever you are, things are okay for you or become better for you.
