ECUADOR NEEDS YOU NOW

First I will introduce ourselves, Denise Gurdal here (lived in Ecuador for 13 years and am currenlty living in Yonkers, NY) and Pamela Vinueza here who is from Ecuador and lived in Ecuador most of her life. Both of us and a group of friends , family and volunteers that keep joining us are working together to help Ecuador (See list of names at the end of the page)

As you all probably know by now, Ecuador suffered a massive 7.2 earthquake on Saturday afternoon. The death and injury toll keeps on going up and we are all trying to help as much as we can. As Ecuadorians living abroad, not being able to do much for our country from afar, we are reaching out to anyone and everyone who can help us raise some money in order to buy necessary medical supplies, water and help the local Fire Department who is hands on deck out in Manta, Pedernales and the cities mostly affected by this earthquake. Jama, Cojimies, Portoviejo, Calceta, Canoa, Bahia de Caraquez, Muisne and Esmeraldas, among others, are the most affected.

You don’t have to give too much. $1, $5, 10, anything goes a long way.

We understand the frustration of not being able to help when you’re not in the country. Pamela Vinueza and some people listed below are currenlty in Ecuador now and will personally buy the supplies, deliver them to approved "drop-off locations" like Central Park where the water bottles were delivered yesterday. These bottles are being delivered in large trucks to the areas that need them the most. We will also provide any donations to the Guayaquil Fire Fighters (Cuerpo de Bomberos de Guayaquil) and families in need.

Our strategy changes daily depending on the needs and we will continue to work to help the victims. Initially we will use your donations for immediate needs such as water, medicine, food and in a second phase we will use your donations to help the families who had lost everything.

Visit our page daily and we will make sure to show you how much your donations have helped but if you’d like more personal updates, send us an email and we will contact you directly.
