Voices of the Earth - An Eco Rock Opera

Donation protected
We are raising funds to develop, produce, and perform Voices of the Earth, an Eco Rock Opera.

This original musical theatre, dance and multimedia show will entertain, educate and inspire action in facing today’s environmental challenges, offering ideas of how we can make a difference in our personal and community lives.

Voices of the Earth is written by Glastonbury composer and musician Sally Pullinger who is renowned for her arrangements and conducting of the Avalonian Free State Choir. A professional medium, Mother, Grandmother and member of the Goddess-loving band Divine Roots, Sally has been involved in many creative, musical and community projects.

Sally originally wrote the rock opera almost 30 years ago while she was co-running the then, locally famous Ploughshares Vegan Organic Café in Glastonbury, along with her family and friends. She spent time as an activist at Molesworth Peace Garden, which ran during the 1980’s at the same time as the Greenham Common camp.

After being inspired by all the young people coming forward in the last few years to speak out for the Earth, Sally has re-written much of the script. She continues to work on new songs and material, as the Coronavirus pandemic, and the political and social fallout from it, reshapes the World.

Flying Tiger Productions  will be providing the multi media content for the production.

The Glastonbury-based production company, run by Alex Diaz and Tasha Collins, specialises in documentaries, music videos and films for social change. They have produced material for Glastonbury Festival, The World Transformed, Uplift TV, Capital FM, Heart FM, The Badger Trust and The Charity Awards.

Voices of the Earth, is poignant, funny and tragic, but also optimistic and hopeful. It deals with the issues that arise as we struggle to overcome the growing and overwhelming facts of the pollution in the earth, seas, rivers, air and space around us, and the consequent threat to all life here on earth.

Once the initial run of performances have been completed we plan to create a package for other theatre groups, schools and colleges. The vision being that the play will be eventually be performed by many groups across the country to help facilitate community-led, grassroots change.

Theatre groups will have access to the script, score, backing tracks, multimedia elements and also guides to costumes, choreography, lighting, sound and set design.

"I have written this Rock Opera as an offering towards the envisioned awakening of humanity, into a new era of loving and caring for each other, and the Earth, and all beings living here, as an invocation for a deep inner change of attitude and ways to move towards a more heart-centred way of living together and honouring each other, the Earth, and all of our fellow creatures.

I am most grateful for your donations towards our project. Many blessings from the Isle of Avalon, Glastonbury, UK."
