Help a family pay off debt & build a home

Hi!

I’m doing this fundraising on behalf of a family who’s story really touched me.

This is Kamila’s Story.

My name is Kamila, a mother of 4 teenage daughters 13-17 years old, We live in greater London.

I was always a very happy child growing up and living in south east London with my parents and siblings. I later found out at the age of 8 that my parents where not really my parents and they had decided they no longer wanted me, so they gave me up to the local authority.

I ended up in foster care at the age of 8 and children's homes for young mothers at 15 when I had my first child. 

 

In 2019 my husband died of cancer. The children are still dealing with the loss of their father. After the death of my husband we was left with over £15,000 in debts and we are still behind on every single bill you can name. I work part time and do whatever I can to survive and take care of the children and pay back what little I can towards the debt in our bills and rent. 

I've had to deal with a lot of challenges and life's trials as most of us do in our lives, from giving birth to my daughter alone to domestic violence which I had to be hospitalised on some occasions.

I and my 4 daughters have come a long way in dealing with and overcoming these problems which had a major impact on our lives and mental wellbeing for a long time until we got help from a family therapist in recent years.

We've been living in a 2 bed flat in South London for 20 years, basically on top of each other. 

That is why I now want to realise my dream of building my own Eco-friendly house wherever we can get cheap land to build on and provide stability and security for my children and myself.

We plan to pay off some of the debts and build the house all on our own to keep the costs down or do as much as humanly possible on our own.

The house we plan to build will be self-sustained, environmentally friendly and we will only use natural materials such as wood which reduces CO2 emission by 31% minimising our environmental impact and carbon footprint and less waste.

We will use renewable energy technology such as solar panels and firewood stoves for heating.

The funds you donate will be used to pay off some of the debts and purchase a small piece of land and building materials.
