Educating Children Outdoors is an outdoor, experiential homeschool program serving families in the Phoenix area. Our organization is based on the "forest education" programs prevalent across Europe. We offer a K-3rd and 4th-9th grade program. Our goal is to immerse our students with knowledge, love and dedication to the outd in oors. ECO feels very strongly about immersing children in the outdoors to learn. Through ECO, children will learn about and explore nature's wonders through cross curricular, hands on, experiential activities.
We started this program in 2017 in Atlanta, GA and have helped over 100 homeschool children get outdoors to learn. In 2018, the founder Kathy Balman, moved to Phoenix, AZ and has decided to continue her work there. The ECO program was officially launch in August 2019. Many of the materials and supplies Kathy had aquired over the years for ECO had to be divided up so our Atlanta program could continue. As a result there are some items that will be needed for our Phoenix, AZ chapter. We are seeking monetary donations to help cover the cost of supplies, books and teacher training classes. Some funds will also go towards assisting families in need with tuition. To thank you for your donation all sponsors will be listed on our website sponsor page and social media outlets.
Some of the items we wish to purchase with donated funds: -cooling towels -printer paper -ink cartridgea -trail camera -squirt bottles -compasses -digital cameras -tie dye kits -fish nets -bug catchers -portable toilet -water testing kits -cd cases -magnifying glasses -school supplies (crayons, pencils, etc) -copies of Chloe and the Desert Heroes and Sand County Almanac
Some fees will also go towards teacher training, curriculum books and CPR/first aid certifications.
