Kim's 1'st Missionary Trip!

Hello Everyone! I will be partcipating in my first missions trip this upcoming November! I will be going to Bird's Head Island in Indonesia. I am working with an organization called Mission One Eleven (http://missiononeeleven.com/). Mission One Eleven is a non-profit organization that’s mission is to give One Chance For Every Person. It’s based on the belief that every person deserves to hear the the Good News of what Christ has done for them at least once in their life. In a world of 6.7 billion people, 2.7 billion have never heard of the name of Jesus Christ even once. Most of these people who have never heard, have no chance to hear because they are so secluded in rural areas. And so Mission One Eleven goes to these places where no one will go or can go, often taking helicopters to reach these areas. We live with a tribe, teach them the stories of God and lead them to a belief and understanding of Christ.

To complete the heart and vision of Mission One Eleven, they have designed an internship for young people to join. Every fall they have an internship that includes both education and training as well as hands on experience in the field. During the training we teach several courses on Prayer & Discipleship, Counting the Cost, Social Missions, Fitness Training, and Storytelling. Each weekend we travel to churches and organizations to do local outreaches. We work with those on Skidrow, women trapped in human trafficking, street children and more.

Following our training program we head to the field where we live with a tribe for several weeks. We camp in tents alongside a tribe and share life with them. We live with them, share teachings on hygienic living and interact with their children. Greatest of all, we teach them the greatest story ever told. The story of Jesus Christ. Our heart is to leave behind a church and believers that a missionary will go back to and disciple and raise up an indigenous church.
