I have created this go find me in Hope's of helping my dad. My whole life my dad has done nothing but provide and give me, my 4 sisters, my mother, and 2 grandsons the life they deserve. He lives his life to serve others and take care of his family.
Over 10 years ago my dad was diagnosed with a really rare disease. The disease is called Amyloidosis. Amyloidosis happens when an abnormal protein that is usually produced in the bone marrow and can be deposited in any tissue or organ and starts attacking in different parts of the body. Amyloid isn't normally found in the body, but it can be formed from several different types of protein. Organs that may be affected include the heart, kidneys, liver, spleen, nervous system and digestive tract. It is rare and there are only so many doctors in the united states who know how to treat this disease. The survival rate is very low and and people usually die within a few years of having it. This disease can go undetected for so song giving the person almost no chance of survival. My dad has been fighting this disease for over 10 years! He has outlived all of his doctors timelines and has gone through stem cell surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. Because of the rareness of this disease my dad has to travel back and forth to FLORIDA to see his doctors. The doctors here at kadlec can never help him and dont know how to treat him. He is in wonderful hands with mayo clinic down in florida and travels 2 to 3 times a year and has to stay anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months depending on course of treatment and different appointments. My dad has always been a hard worker but because of this disease he has not worked in over 10 years. My dad is as strong as they come but all the traveling back and forth and long stays has created so much debt to the point of tears.
I went to visit my dad today and noticed he is not doing so well again and is in need of another trip to florida to see his doctors as soon as they can get him in. Unfortunately my dad is so stressed with the thought of going and having so many more expenses added to his piling debt that he doesnt even want to go. I am hoping to help my dad raise some money to help him cover costs for this costly trip to help him get the care he needs and deserves before things get worse. My dad has spent the last 5 years raising his grandsons who think the world of him and they need him. My family has banded together and we are piling money up for this trip as well but we still need some extra help! PLEASE HELP US GET MY DAD TO FLORIDA. It would mean the world to us. My dad has spent his whole life blessing others and he needs to blessed in his time of need. If you cant donate please send prayers for him. We are not ready to give up on my dad. He needs our help.
