In West African language where the word EBI derived, family has historically and presently meant more than just blood. Neighbors and community meant family too – it took a whole village to help one another and maintain a healthy population.

Approximately 177,000 in Jacksonville, FL are considered food insecure. These are members of our community, our EBI that do not know where their next meal will come from - most living in food desert areas. 

EBI Community Market is an initiative of Wallace Empowerment, a family owned organization that was created to make a  change in the community. We've heard the concerns of those in 32209 zip code needing access to closer grocery stores when attending a local Town Hall meeting.

We believe that making a change starts with our community, and we are recruiting family members to help build our EBI. Our market is committed to create the shift that we need for our community's health through providing nutritious food options and changing thoughts and behaviors in food desert areas.

EBI believes in the power of our community so much more than just to provide food. We will provide health fairs, cooking demonstrations, nutrition and financial literacy classes and much more. Another main goal is boosting the community's economic growth through the creation and sustaining of jobs. Our market workers will be hired from the EBI Community Market area ~ because we are a family all around.

If you donate $5,000 or more, your name/organizational logo will be on a sponsorship sign in areas of the store of your choosing.
