Support Education Bridge for Afghanistan (EBA)

Education Bridge for Afghanistan (EBA) helps individuals and organisations provide education/training using virtual platforms for Afghan girls. EBA is raising funds for this purpose to allow every Afghan girl her fundamental right to education and to empower her to develop her skills and live an independent life by seeking employment in Afghanistan or other countries after the completion of her education.

After the fall of the Islamic Republic Government of Afghanistan, the country fell into chaos and anarchy. Over 2 years later, people are struggling with a humanitarian crisis. There are more and more restrictions. Soon after they gained control, the Taliban closed girls’ schools without any notification of a planned reopening date. In the new academic year in Afghanistan, girls of grades 7 and above were not allowed to enter school and went back home with a tear in their eyes. In a recent decree, the Taliban banned universities for girls and women, and the defacto government's ministry of higher education has announced that as of 20 Dec 2022, female students, employees, and educators of both private and public universities are not allowed to enter the universities and so for other educational institutions. These restrictions will affect education destructively not only in the short term but for many years to come. Girls in Afghanistan are left at home without any hope for their future.

In response to this situation, a group of people with a shared passion, some in Afghanistan and some abroad decided to start a volunteer initiative and register Education Bridge for Afghanistan (EBA) as a not-for-profit organisation (CIO) in the UK. The team along with partners worked hard to design a responsive online school where students can study easily. The online school is now running, with secondary-level students registered and attending classes via virtual platforms. Our vision is to make the school available to more girls all around Afghanistan however we are limited with resources. Please support our cause and vision by donating and giving a child hope for the future whilst rescuing Afghan girls' from being left uneducated.
