Karen Deem's Healing Journey

Back in March 2012 Karen was diagnosed with advanced ovarian cancer. As we know Karen has been through many levels of treatment over the last two years including many alternative treatments with high out of pocket expenses. We received the news last week that the cancer has spread, markers are up and symptoms are worse. After careful consideration Karen has decided that the best course of action is to have a surgery to try and de-bulk some of the tumors that are presenting the most life threatening situation at this time. Things have progressed quite a bit and the hope is that they can remove as much of the tumor load now and then after a time of recovery do another round of chemotherapy. Her surgery is scheduled at Kaiser hospital in Sacramento (2025 Morse Ave., Sacramento, CA 95825), her surgeon anticipates she will be there a minimum of 2 weeks and possibly longer depending how things go. All funds raised will go to help with medical expenses, hotel, travel, and food as Karen takes this next step in her healing journey.
