“Build It and They Will Come.”

And that we will soon see! We entertain. We love on friends and family with food, presentation, atmosphere, and have been told repeatedly for a couple decades now “you guys need a restaurant.” As half of our twosome nabbed 2 culinary degrees (associates and bachelors) and a management masters, ran a sole proprietor personal chef business, and settled into a decade-plus career in collegiate culinary education, the ultimate dream for someone with that background was always there...restaurant ownership. The other half just cooks and cooks and experiments, as is evident by his healthy social media activity as it pertains to food. Yep, he posts food;)

Well, that dream will no longer be deferred. We have been afforded the exciting opportunity to “create the dream,” as we bring eat at river park to life. It’s located in Woodstock GA,  just 7 miles from our own home. Won’t you please consider helping us and this effort? We stumbled on this all as a simple proposition in November, but it became a very serious thought for us mid-January with not a ton of notice and a month of not knowing if it would work, but steadily crunching numbers, developing a business plan, and hashing out financial projections “just in case all the ducks lined up,” negotiating equipment costs, and hoping. It all became official in early February.  The goal now is to open in the next 45 days! Yep!! While still working great jobs we will keep. Yep!!  And as you can imagine, the needs from forks to chairs to EVERYTHING now exists. We are extremely thankful the restaurant space already exists with a nicely and partially appointed commercial kitchen. We’ve created a beautiful and exciting menu, elevated southern with a nod or two to Louisiana, we call it, with dinner-only offerings for now. From griddle cornbread cakes (hoecakes) with a stewed tomato gravy, to cast iron skillet Louisiana baked spaghetti (aka mac n cheese to the rest of us), to glazed donut bread pudding, are tastes of our planned offerings. We’ve envisioned an amazing space and gonna put some love and “Trey and Monique” on our quaint 35 seat dining room, and are incredibly excited for the next couple months of making our space home with a “Georgia boy meets Louisiana girl” (or Louisiana girl nabs Georgia boy if we’re honest) rustic, farmy, industrial, very eclectic feel, just like our own home. In addition to our dining customers, during the summer months, our spot also services the tournament tennis courts, basketball courts and pool in the subdivision we will be located in,  all right behind our location. A cool menu is in the works for that entity, from old school “candy lady” frozen cups to sweet roll sliders to Rice Krispie treat ice cream sandwiches, in addition to observing some lunch hours. We are also anticipating what we call a “grab n’ geaux” concept where people in the 600 home neighborhood, to anyone who drives on up into our ample parking lot, can “grab” from choices of about 3-5 different “casserole” dinners for their family and “geaux” right on home with their selection, bake it and enjoy. Think classic Shepard’s pie or shrimp and grits casserole. Monique’s sweets, from Louisiana “pecan candy” to her beloved cupcakes and other delights, will also be displayed and for sale in our baked goods area. And of course the space enables ease to cater, and affords Monique the opportunity to host things like cooking classes and the like, with folk in the community. There’s lots of fun to be had and lots of business to capture in this rather unique opportunity we’ve decided to jump on...FINALLY. Your investment is indeed a great one.

So won’t you join us as the old saying goes, and “come get a seat at the table?”
