East Bound & Down

I am raising money because I have a job that starts in two weeks in Virginia.  It is a great job and with it is a opportunity to get my life back on track.  When I say back on track that is the best word I can think of because I'm financially ruined and starting with nothing at 49.  Nothing that is but a positive attitude, a chip on my shoulder, a 2017 CRF450R and the hard earned credentials 25 years in the architecture profession gave that cannot be taken from me.  Those credentials afforded me this opportunity but when I say I have a "chip on my shoulder" that is because I have had a tough past couple of years.  A devastating rift between my oldest son and I and a prognosis that gave me 6 to 24 months to live.  This was given to me at the hospital during a 4 night stint in November of 2016.   This matter was almost irrelevant in my mind as I had lost my son and the legal process took everything else.  I will spare you the details of how hit bottom and how I fixed my mindset but much of it had to do with reigniting a childhood dream.  That dream was to race motocross and be good at it.

Back to the point, I need money to get back to Virginia and start this job off right.  I need to do it without selling my bike but seems impossible at this point.   My boys, that bike and the dream is the reason I am still here.   It is all I own except my truck but that is owned by the bank.  $7,950 will get me there and keep my creditors at bay till my first paycheck.  My situation is, has and will continue to be exponentially complicated by the health and welfare system and that unbalance fathers face.

I lost my son, job, retirement, love of my life, everything almost.

My needs:
bill delta $1,500
fuel and food $500
tires & brakes $1,100
rent & deposit $3,000
trailer $1,850

I have always been a philanthropic person and will continue to be regardless but if this can grant me some desperately needed relief it would be so appreciated.  I am not sure I have the means to pull it off otherwise.  Selling my bike can at best bring me 6K at best a devastating financial loss.  Motocross bikes are not an investment and maybe only racers can understand that.

I really deserve a win.  Possessions mean very little to me as my actions can attest, I want to be a force for good and deserve the stability this will provide.  My gainful employment will ensure that two additional households receive the support the need from me.  It's humbling to do this but I have done many humbling things lately and it's okay.  Thank you for reading this.

Best Wishes,
Matt Reddy
