Earthquake Relief for The Faton Family

Donation protected

On the morning of August 14, 2021, the immediate family members of Jean-Bernard Faton lost their home and dear loved ones in the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that was reported only 4 miles from where they live in L’Asile, Haiti. The cover photo shows their home destroyed after the earthquake.

Many parts of Haiti were impacted. When we visited L’Asile from Port-Au-Prince in 2017, we had to cross a river by car, and then drive for hours through rocky-road mountains to reach their village. Roads were damaged in the earthquake and there are only a couple nearby homes that were also destroyed. There was nowhere else for the family to evacuate to because their village is located remotely and many hours away from the capital city. The family was able to put up makeshift tents and slept outside the first night after the earthquake, because it was not safe to sleep in or near what is left of their home.

All monetary support will be sent directly to the family to help with finding food, shelter, rebuilding and any expense related to recovering from the devastation caused by the earthquake. The family sincerely appreciates your prayers and generosity.
