Earthquake Relief for Ixtaltepec

Donation protected
As many of you may know Mexico suffered an 8.2 earthquake, the largest earthquake to hit Mexico in 100 years. The hardest hit parts of Mexico were the cities in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, Oaxaca. Specifically the cities of Juchitan and Ixtaltepec. Over 300 homes have been destroyed and sadly 71 lives were lost.

This GoFund Me campaign is to raise money to purchase construction materials and temporary housing for the people of Ixtaltepec, Oaxaca to aide in the rebuilding of their homes and city. At present people are sleeping on the streets next to the rumble that once were their homes. Supplies of water, food and clothing are arriving daily but the real challenge is rebuilding.

My family is from Ixtaltepec and I am working with my cousin there to collect donations. My cousin works for an architecture firm and as such she is able to negotiate bulk purchases of building materials. All the procceeds from this campaign will be used to buy materials needed for rebuilding and temporary houses. From the bottom of our hearts thank you for your help.
