<div>On 1st February 2021, the Burmese (Myanmar) military staged a brutal coup against the vote of the people, shattering the pillars of the world's newest democracy. The ruthless suppression of peaceful civilian protests and defiance has plunged the country into conflict and an unprecedented humanitarian crisis. <strong>“Three specific military tactics have been systematically directed against the civilian population: airstrikes, mass killings, and burning of villages,” </strong><em>V Türk, U.N.
