Earth Animal's 13th Annual Mitten Project 2020

Since 1979, Earth Animal has been dedicated to caring for animals, people and the Earth. We’ve called Westport, CT home since 1979, and we believe our community extends out into the world where we can volunteer, offer support and resources, and give back to the world we love so much.
Due to COVID-19, the need for food in our communities is greater today than ever before. The unexpected consequence of COVID-19 and the loss of jobs and income has resulted in a 44% increase in the number of people in need. This means 400,000 people are now food insecure, and many have turned to The Connecticut Food Bank for the first time. The CT Food Bank provides healthy and nutritional meals for families during this critical time, distributing to families in need each week via a mobile bus, on location or visiting schools with boxes.
Earth Animal’s Mitten Project™ has offered support to the Connecticut Food Bank for thirteen years, and this year we are on a mission to help more than ever. We’re asking our community to join in and support with donations, which we’ll match dollar-for-dollar to make an even bigger impact for families in need. Please donate to make a difference for our community this holiday season.
This year Earth Animal is determined to help. We have asked local business and friends to join in and offer support with donations during this time period. Earth Animal will match every penny that has been donated and we feel deeply about the need to support organizations doing great things in our backyard and in our great state of Connecticut.
Last year we raised $20,000 and want to surpass that amount. We have provided a link to help support our mission. With the help of family and friends and our business partners our goal is to reach $15,000 and Earth Animal will match this amount and we strive to get to $30,000.
