Ears For Dana

Hello all! We are raising money to help Dana with her medical costs and also to help her regain some normalcy in her day to day life! Dana is one of the strongest women I know and I couldn’t think of anyone more deserving. Any little bit helps!

July 19th was a typical day for myself teach my cycle class at the YMCA then off to great clips. Little did I know my life would never be the same. After teaching my class I suddenly noticed I couldn't hear out of my left ear. Then the room started to spin. I did manage to drive home throwing up the whole way but the dizziness got worse. That night I went to the ER and then was referred to a specialist. After a MRI and many tests, they told me I had a virus attack my inner ear and damaged the nerves in my left ear. I'm now completely deff in my left ear and with that comes many challenges. I had to learn how to walk, drive,figure out where sounds are coming from, how to walk up and down stairs.. I have fallen a few times lol. I'm a runner, ran 12 half marathons last year! I know my love for running is not over, just on hold. The Dr.'s say it will take my brain about a year to adjust to the loss on my left side. One thing that could help me is a cross system it wouldn't give me any hearing back but would let me know that there is someone talking on my left side. It's $3,150.00 which is not covered by insurance nor is the cochlear implant that I'm now a candidate for. To some it might not seem like a lot but after the thousands of dollars of medical bill I have from all this it hasn't been easy.
