Earle's Cares: Accessible Community Meals

If you're familiar with Earle's on Crenshaw, you also know the brothers behind the business, Cary and Duane Earle. For over 30 years, this duo has been dedicated to bringing their vision to life- uniting people and their communities through good, healthy food. They both believe that it is essential for everyone to access great quality food at an accessible price and leave their community better than they found it.
Back in March 2020, when COVID-19 first required us all to shelter-in-place, Cary and Duane saw the most vulnerable in their communities in need of assistance. In particular, the elderly, many of whom live alone, are disabled and have limited access to food due to #saferathome guidelines. Earle's partnered with the city of Los Angeles, local politicians, LAPD, Beyond Meat, and community volunteers through the Great Plates Delivered Program to cook and deliver healthy meals to the elderly in over 80 private homes and assisted living facilities three days a week for eleven weeks.
Additionally, Earle's also donated meals and N-95 masks to doctors, nurses, and other healthcare staff at local Los Angeles Hospitals – Cedars Sinai, Centinela Hospital , Kaiser Permanente , and LA Children's Hospital .
While the Great Plates Delivered Program has ended, COVID-19 has not, and the most vulnerable in our community still need our help. Cary and Duane Earle are launching this GoFundMe with a continued commitment to providing accessible healthy food to our communities, so we can all work together to keep them safe.
The deliveries are made 2-3 times a week for as long as we are able to keep funding going. Our hopes are to keep this program going well into next year to support our community. The funds we raise together will go towards continuing the work we've started with 100% of the proceeds going towards providing these meals to the elderly community and healthcare first-responders.
