On behalf of my sister-in-law, Steve's daughter, Kimmy:
"It is with a heavy heart that I share the news that my amazing dad, Steve “Eaks” Eaken, was taken from this world on Monday night, January 29th when he experienced a massive heart attack.
It happened quickly and it appears he did not suffer. For those of you who knew Eaks, you know he was a great man who brightened people’s days and their hearts with his kind soul, sense of humor, and the love he had for everyone in his life. He is dearly missed.
My mom, Gayla, my brother, Matt, and I, along with our families and friends are heartbroken. Many of you have asked how you can help, so it is with mixed emotions that we are accepting donations to help with arrangements and the sudden unexpected loss of an income while we scramble to get things in order.
We are so grateful for the outpouring of love and support we are receiving and do not want anyone to feel obligated to donate. We hope to have some sort of service in the next few months and will keep you all posted.
Please seek peace and joy in your memories of Eaks and know that he died a happy man. He will continue to be part of our lives forever.
