Refrigerated Truck to Serve the Food Insecure
$13,000 plus Tax, Title and Registration.
Two Major Local Retailers Have Offered to Donate an Ongoing Supply of Perishable Food if Laurie's Charity can pick it up 3 times a week with a Refrigerated Truck. Laurie will need to let them know by this coming Monday August 14, 2017 if they would like to be the Selected Charity to receive this food. Laurie does not want to let this opportunity go by, and would even rent a truck until this Refrigerated Truck can be purchased.
UPDATE: 8/29/2017 Laurie has accepted the offer and committed to the pickup schedule. We're about 1/3 of the way to the goal, and Reflections of Trinity has started the process of securing the Truck. Let's Finish what we have started so the Charity can Own this truck and Serve the amazing people of Powder Springs and the surrounding area.

Below is our story and how we came to know Laurie Wong and Reflections of Trinity.
My wife Denise Martell and I had the opportunity this year to meet a very special person named Laurie Wong.
Denise was chosen to be a finalist in the eBay SHINE Awards 2017 and travel to Las Vegas to meet other finalists and former finalists from SHINE 2016. On Wednesday evening eBay hosted a dinner for all of the finalists. Denise and I were seated with Sarah and Dana (two of eBay's executives), Katy Zilverberg (an eBay SHINE Finalist) and Laurie Wong (eBay SHINE 2016 Winner). Though my wife Denise was the finalist, I was fortunate enough to be the #PrimaryGuest and they sat me next to Laurie.
During our conversation over dinner, Laurie shared with Denise and I how winning the eBay SHINE Award had helped her Charity - Reflections of Trinity. She shared many things that have happened and that the Grand Prize money went for the purchase of a walk-in freezer for the charity.
One Simple Question
As the conversation continued, and Denise and I saw the heart that Laurie had for the people she serves in Powder Springs, GA I asked her One Simple Question: "What is your Biggest Need Right Now?" To which Laurie responded saying that, Reflections of Trinity needed a Refrigerated Truck. They had already found a used Truck that would serve the Food Insecure people in her community. The cost of the Truck is $13,000 plus tax, title and registration. My wife Denise and I told Laurie that we wanted to help her and her community.
I shared with Laurie that my Mother had lived in Atlanta for the last 23 years, and that I moved her back to Vermont in March of 2016. My Mom passed away suddenly in March of 2017 and always had "Georgia on her Mind". For me, this is a way to serve and embrace the people that so willingly embraced my mother when she moved there so many years ago.
It is our hope that this project to "Share the Light" will only be the first that the eBay SHINE Awards Alumni of Finalists and Winners would get behind and support to make many Communities SHINE brighter in the future.
100% of the Proceeds from this GoFundMe campaign will go to the Purchase of this Refrigerated Truck. Any additional Funds over and above, will be earmarked for the next "eBay SHINE Awards - "Share the Light" initiative.
