My Students' Education and My Science Classroom

Donation protected
Hi everyone,

Thank you so much for taking the time to view my page. My name is Limor Dubrovsky and I am very excited to announce that I have just started my first year of teaching.

I am teaching Biology and Physiology in the Recent Immigrant Support and Engagement (R.I.S.E) pathway and Science Department at Oakland High School in California. Being at a public school, there is no financial support in our classrooms ( I am aiming for $20 for each student). All 120 of my students are Newcomers and have either just arrived in the U.S or have been here for two years or less. My classroom supports nine different languages, including Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, Pashto, Dari, and more. They need all of our support.

All of my students are enthusiastic about learning and about living in the United States. Many of their goals are to thrive and succeed here to support their families, including families that still live in other countries. In just one week, I have already seen so much excitement and enthusiasm from all my students to learn both English and science.

My goal is to give my students the best possible education, so that they have the opportunity to achieve their dreams.

In order to do that, I need your help. Again, as a public school teacher, I get no financial support for my classroom (we do not have money for lab experiments, etc.), everything is through donations. I want to share my love for science with my students. With your support, I will be able to do that and more. I am aiming to raise $20 for each a student!

All money raised will go to my students’ education. Any money not used will be donated to a non-profit that supports immigrant students' education (to be decided).

Your support would help me cover the costs of:
1. Classroom supplies (notebooks, paper, posters, pencils, scientific lab equipment, and more)
2. Classroom activities (labs/dissections, group activities, etc.)
3. Scientific/educational decor and visual aids (hydroponic system, classroom skeleton, plant station, classroom pet, and more)
4. Field trips!!! (I want to bring my students' education to life!)
5. Snacks and water bottles!
6. Support for the community garden
7. And so much more!

If you can chip in any amount, I would be so thankful. Thank you for your time and consideration in supporting my students and classroom!
