On December 8th, Todd had a seizure at home in Thief River Falls, MN, and was then admitted to the hospital. After tests, scans, and a week-long hospital stay, his case was sent to Mayo Clinic in Rochester to evaluate a suspicious looking area in his brain. After a few consultation appointments, Todd underwent a brain biopsy there on January 16.
Unfortunately, the biopsy showed that Todd has a Stage III Glioma (anaplastic astrocytoma). Meanwhile, he has been having intermittent seizures, that have been (thankfully) getting better with the help of different medications. Since his first seizure in December, he has been unable to work.
He has plans to begin radiation in the next week at the Roger Maris Cancer Center in Fargo, ND, and will be starting oral chemotherapy, as well.
Donations will be given to Todd to help with the costs of treatments and living expenses while he undergoes his 7 weeks of radiation therapy.
