Hi my name is Holly, I go to Sixth Form at Bishop Luffa School and I have been choose to go on a once in a lifetime volunteer trip with grassroots trust to Mbeya, Tanzania along with some of my peers, the money that I am raising will all go toward travel and programs that we complete with grassroots while away. While on my 10 day trip we will take part in activities such as helping with feeding programs, milk programs for early years, building beds for the children in the local community, visiting a local zoo with some of the children, going to a local market, helping to make and distribute water filtration systems, visiting a local school and church. I think that this experience will give me a whole new perspective on life,the world around me and give me the opportunity to see and interact with people from a completely different culture and lifestyle.

Grassroots is a charity that as a sixth form we contribute to through out various fundraising activities through the year such as fashion show and charity week. Grassroots is a small trust that uses local people and local infrastructure to projects in their local community. At Grassroots 100% of money given goes to the children sponsored, This money allows children to be educated, receive uniform, food and free medical care all within just £3.50 a month.
