Byron Turner Heart Transplant

Byron update: We are NOT having Byron's 3rd heart surgery. We met with the transplant team and his cardiologist today. Due to the high pressures in Byrons heart we are skipping the Fontan and doing preliminary testing to prepare to list him for a heart. Our goal is to keep Byrons native heart working for him as long as possible, we don't want to transplant too early or too late so it is a lot of fine tuning and testing and monitoring. We are trying to keep it together but how do you pray a heart comes available for your child to continue to live when you know the only way for that to happen is for other parents to lose the child they love and cherish! This was not the path we thought we would be heading down so early in his life! Thanks you to all who have prayed and supported us in this journey!!
