<div>Those were the first intelligible words I heard my beloved husband, Stan, say, after

<div>almost 48 hours of nothing but darkness and chaos.

</div>

<div>Stan had a stroke. For anyone who has had one or loves someone who has had

</div>

<div>one, nothing more need be said. It is purely terrifying.

</div>

</div>

<div>Add to that, that this happened when we were far from home. Now, more than one

</div>

<div>week later, we are still far from home because Stan cannot be moved yet, and, to

</div>

<div>be honest, we are completely broke. I really don’t know what to say, except:

</div>

<div>Can you help us?

</div>

<div>Stan is recovering, but slowly. He is very weak, somewhat disoriented, and cannot

</div>

<div>swallow. When he is able to go home, he will need more care than I will be able to

</div>

<div>provide alone.

</div>

</div>

<div>Already, so many of our friends and family have been supporting us with prayers

</div>

<div>and positive energy and loving thoughts and I know in my heart that these are the

</div>

<div>things that will really heal Stan, but the only thing that is going to pay the hospital

</div>

<div>bill is cash. It is really hard for me to ask, but I am.

</div>
