<div>On October 2nd, our lives changed in an instant. Josh fell 12 feet off a roof while at work. The accident left him with devastating injuries—he shattered his left heel, fractured his right heel, and fractured his spine in two places.

</div>

<div>It may not seem very lucky, as Josh has a long, painful road to recovery ahead of him, but we are truly thankful for the outcome. It could have been so much worse—he’s alive, he didn’t hit his head, and he’s not paralyzed. Miraculously, no surgery is required, and for that we are beyond grateful. Still, the reality is that this will be a very difficult journey for our family.

<div>Josh will need to remain mostly non-weight bearing for at least 6 weeks, and it may be 3–4 months before he is able to return to work. We are still waiting to hear from physical therapy, and there will be many follow-up visits in the weeks and months ahead as he heals.

<div>As many of you know, Josh is self-employed, and unfortunately his workers’ compensation only covers his employees—not himself. On top of that, he does not have health insurance, so the medical bills are already stacking up and will continue to grow.

</div>

<div>During this time, Josh will not be able to provide for our family. I (Alisha) will also need to take time off work to help care for him, but as I am still new in my teaching position, I do not have much PTO available. We are doing our best to stay strong, but the financial burden is more than we can manage on our own right now.

</div>

<div>We are reaching out and asking for support during this difficult time. Every donation—no matter how small—will help cover medical expenses, lost income, and household bills so we can focus on Josh’s healing and recovery.
