Brave the shave

Everyone who knows me knows I have always raised money for Charity.
It started many years ago when one of my closest friends had a baby with Spina Bifida, and I’ve never really stopped, Children with Leukaemia, Leukaemia Research, Hillingdon Hospital Children’s Ward, Teddys for Love and Care, Southampton Children’s Ward, and lots of Charities via my Masonic Lodge, now I’ve decided to do one for Prostate Cancer Research, To celebrate my 71st Birthday in a couple of weeks It will probably be the last fundraiser I ever do as I am getting far too old.
So I thought of doing something extremely mad as per usual and am going to have all my hair shaved off, I haven’t had a haircut this year in preparation for this event, I know if you are already bald, having your head shaved is not a big deal, but I have never had short hair in my life I was even born with a full head of hair, so for me it is a very big deal, I’ve been advised that my age it may never ever grow back, but if the price is right it’s a risk I’m willing to take. I have set my base target at £1000 but I am hoping my generous Family and Friends will FAR! exceed that.
We all know someone who has passed away, or is still suffering, from of one form of Cancer or another, and they are all equally deserving of our support, but when a man gets Prostrate Cancer it affects not only him but his Wife, or Partner, and his entire family and friends, the treatment is an extremely hard and cruel treatment to receive, and the success rate is not all we would like it to be.
That is why I decided on giving the money to research. At this time they are already talking about measures that can add 10 years to a man’s life, 10 precious years, not only me, but some of my close friends have had near death experiences it only then you can appreciate what 10 extra years would mean, so every penny you can give could potentially add even more time.
So I am asking all my friends and family all over the world if you would like to buy me a pint for birthday please donate £5 instead, if you want to buy me 2 pints please donate £10 instead, if we would normally g o on the razzle together then It's got to be at least a £50, If you don't see me that often nowadays, think of all the money you've saved and stick it in the pot, if you would normally throw me a Party, I’ve already had 70 good ones so the sky is your limit.
