This loving couple with three growing children, who live in Alvinston, Ontario, recently lost everything in a devastating house fire. On Friday September 5, 2014 they had a grease fire start that got out of control and engulfed their home in flames. The mother Cara went into shock, after she was forced to drop the burning pot of oil, she ran into the street screaming for help. Someone called 911 and helped arrived soon after.  Cara got out with second degree burns to her arms and burns to her face and hair. Luckily Cara and her two dogs were the only ones home and everyone is ok. They have a mere shell of a house and the entire roof must be replaced. (Rafters, studs and all) They must replace doors, windows, furniture, appliances,drywall, paint, flooring and much more throughout most of the house. The water and fire damage is extensive. Especially the water damage as the fire trucks had to return to the fire to put out hot spots. We have already filled a full size dumpster with the damaged material and will fill it many more times. Cara has not been able to work due to health issues, although she has tried. This family lives hand to mouth and due to circumstances must pay for all repairs out of their own pocket. This is a terrible circumstance
for any family so please help with even the smallest donation to help them rebuild their home.
