Dear Parishioners, Friends, and Supporters of St Michael’s,
I am writing today to make you aware of some major exterior building repairs needed to our church and rectory Our brick church which was built in 1875
, and registered as a National Historic Building
is in need of some extensive tuck pointing and masonry work to repair the deterioration that has occurred over the years, resulting in large cracks, crumbling mortar, and large gaps between the brick throughout the church, and rectory. It is urgent that we make these repairs immediately to preserve the integrity of these buildings, and to avoid escalating damages, and additional costs.
Our goal is to raise $ 40,000 for the estimated cost of these repairs. To date we have raised $9,000.00, and have used these funds to complete a portion of this work and would like to finish the work by this fall. I appeal to the generosity of our church members, the benevolence of the business community and the general public to raise the remaining $ 31,000.
Your support will help to preserve the only Ukrainian Greek Catholic Byzantine rite Church in Wisconsin,
and will ensure that our beautiful church, and Ukrainian cultural traditions continue to serve as the seat of a vibrant Ukrainian Community and important cultural asset in our local community and the State of Wisconsin.
