At 3:20am I woke up to the scariest moment of my life. Smoke was rolling into the house and flames coming through the back door. I grabbed Emersyn and we all three ran outside. And there the three of us stood, in the driveway, watching our home in flames. It is so crazy that I hear stories from Cody on house fires all the time, but I never imagined it would be ours. I have no doubt that someone was looking out for us tonight, and I just happened to wake up. Thank you God my family is safe!!! Our house and contents are a total loss, but we still have each other. A huge thank you to Athens Fire and Rescue for responding so quick and being so generous!! Although my husband is a fire fighter, I have much more respect for those guys after watching them in action. Please say a little prayer for our family as we pick up the pieces, and begin to start over.
