Landen is an 11-year-old boy who lives an idyllic life in small-town Iowa. Tragically and unexpectedly, Landen's mother died of a rare blood infection on Friday, September 5. Landen's family had to make the painful decision to remove Jenny from life support, and Jenny will now have to watch Landen live his life from heaven.
Among the terrible consequences of losing your mother at such a young age is the obvious financial impact. Jenny raised Landen as a single mother and served as his primary source of financial security. In the wake of her death, her friends are rallying around Landen to provide him college expenses with a modest goal of raising $5,000. A little about Jenny
Jenny was born and raised in small-town Iowa. Throughout school, she was actively involved in her community -- band member, choir member, color guard captain, cheerleader. You never saw Jenny without a smile on her face, and you never heard her utter an unkind word. She taught everyone she met a lesson about grace, kindness and dignity simply by leading through action. She will be missed for her larger-than-life personality, her bear hugs, her unmatched compassion for life, and her unyielding loyalty.
More than anything or anyone, Jenny loved her family. She moved away from her small town right after high school but soon returned to get married and start her family. On any Saturday afternoon, Jenny and Landen could be found lounging or site seeing with her two older brothers, their children, and her mom and dad.
In addition to love of family, Jenny loved her friends. The catalyst of every get together, Jenny made sure her friends stayed in touch throughout the year.
Words cannot express how much we will miss Jenny. I only hope we can provide her family some comfort during this time of terrible loss.
