Alpha Xi Delta Fraternity and the Theta Xi Chapter are mourning the loss of our Sister Alexa Duran, 18, who passed away as a result of the pedestrian bridge collapse on Florida International University’s campus.
The loss of a member, especially a young woman with so much potential, is felt throughout our entire Sisterhood. Alpha Xi Delta sends our deepest condolences to Alexa’s family and friends.
To our chapter, Alexa was more than just a sister--She was our shining star, our Rolex. She brought nothing but light to all of our lives. Around Rolex, laughs were endless, but we could never seem to get enough. She was one of a kind, a true rockstar. Starting today, every step we take, we take with Alexa. She is the angel of Theta Xi and with big beautiful wings she flies. Her legacy lives on in each and every one of our hearts. Our hearts go out to her family at this time as we can only hope they find peace soon.
