My family desperately needs some support. Earlier this week the doctor told me that my mommy only has days, hopefully weeks, to live.
My mommy is extremely sick. She fought and beat stage four cervical cancer six years ago, but unfortunately it has returned. This aggressive resurgence was accompanied by blood clots and other serious complications. This week her health took a turn for the worst. After suffering a stroke, she has lost eyesight and is bed ridden.
The loss of independence is very difficult for her, even now she is trying to get home to try and cook and take care of her children. Despite her failing health, she is still fighting this brutal battle.
I have been travelling back and forth to New Hampshire weekly to take care of my siblings and visit my mother, which is taking a huge toll on me. I am torn between my own life and the massive responsibilities I am obligated to consider, as my younger siblings need financial and emotional support. Unfortunately my mommy does not have health insurance, as her preventive diagnosis has prevented her from joining an affordable plan.
As painful as it is to ask for help, I have no other choice. My wish is that my mommy could have a simple, beautiful service for everyone to remember her by. I also need some help with my brother and sister. They are going through so much and I fear that soon they will be left on their own. My goal is to take care of and provide for my family.
