Wessell Family Home Nightmare!

Hello and thank you for stopping by our GoFundMe page for Jen and Kevin Wessell of Salem, MA. The Wessell family is one of the nicest you could ever meet and we want to help them!
Their story started at a home show with promises of all the bells, whistles and the latest and greatest of everything in home remodeling from Boardwalk North Construction of Londonderry, NH. This resulted in the Wessell’s contracting with them in March, 2014 to renovate their home - a home which has been in Jen’s family for generations. Diagrams, pictures, and 3D graphics promised them their dream home!
What was supposed to be their dream home has now turned into a nightmare! Work started on April 20, and from the foreman demanding payments before work was complete, to the company’s failure to reconnect the washer hose causing a flood, to the company asking the Wessell’s if THEY knew a plumber who could finish work after their own two left the job, to sheet rock installed OVER a newly connected smoke and CO detector, to complete work stoppage on August 18 and the company closing its doors, to the company’s constant badgering for more money to finish the work (which should have taken only 16 weeks) to the Wessell’s being out nearly $150,000.00…the nightmare is still going on.
As of this day, many of the materials have STILL not been delivered and the owner is nowhere to be found - he has not paid his workers and has not finished the work - leaving the place a disaster area, including no lights on the first floor and no heat hooked up! Even worse, the unpaid subcontractors are threatening to place liens on the Wessell’s home!
The Wessell’s can pursue this matter in court, which will only add to their costs for this project and further delay them being able to enjoy their home. In the meantime, what they’d really like to do is simply be done with Boardwalk North and get the work finished in their house (which means they will have to pay AGAIN for work for which they already paid). That’s where we all come in! Your donation for the Wessell family through GoFundMe will help enable them to hire competent, dependable, and reliable trades workers to fix the work done by this company and to finally finish this project that has depleted most of their life savings.
As of today, the estimated cost to complete the work is $10,000 in electrical, $3,000 for lighting materials, $3,000 for the plumber and $9,000 for a new contractor. Friends have offered to do the painting for them.
If this were you, and Jen knew something like this had happened to you and your family, she would be the first one to say, “We need to help them.” So, let’s do the right thing and help the Wessell family!
