Tuesday, April 20th the Serth's family experienced a terrible tragedy. Will Serth was out skateboarding with a friend in Newport, RI when he fell and sustained substantial head trauma.  It is unknown what caused the fall.  What is known is that he experienced a seizure, we are unsure if the seizure caused the fall or if the fall triggered a seizure.  Will was rushed to Children's Hasbro Hospital in Providence, RI where he was immediately admitted into ICU.  He has swelling of the brain and a tap was inserted to monitor the Inter cranial pressure (ICP).  He has been kept in a medically induced coma to keep him still and calm.  He has undergone several CT scans and XRays.  He is currently on a breathing and feeding tube. He is receiving excellent care, and the staff continue to work to keep his vitals stable.  Doctors have said they want to keep him sedated for 4-5 days before weaning off some of the medications to allow for further neurological testing.  Will's road to recovery will be long and arduous.  Will's mom Leigh has been sleeping there every night but coming home to make sure she is still spending time with her other two children Katy and Emma.  Leigh has been extremely touched by the outpouring of well wishes she has received and feels blessed to have such supportive people in her life.  Many of her friends have asked what they can do to help.  For those of you who know Leigh, she is not one to ask for help, and is always the first one to lend a hand when needed.  This go fund me page has been started to give all of the Serth friends the opportunity to show their support.  A kind note, a prayer chain, a financial donation, or even just a funny story about Will will help keep the family strong through this difficult time.  We thank you on behalf of the family for your outpouring of love during this very difficult time.
