Melanie Gottschalk - Service Animal

Melanie Gottschalk is a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Her greatest gift in life is the love she has for not only her family but also those around her. From the 1980's - 2000's Melanie worked her way up to a Senior Manager position at YRC (formerly Yellow Freight) until having to leave her highly successful and fulfilling career due to medical issues. Today Melanie continues to try to stay as involved as she can with her family, friends and church. In my opinion, her greatest achievement is her sons Andy and Alex that she has raised to the responsible, honest, respectful and smart adults they have become.

After having her hips replaced in the past couple of years in addition to another condition affecting coordination at times, Melanie is now in need of a service dog that is specially trained to help her keep her balance. The process to obtain this dog has been a lengthy starting with an application, references, and doctor referrals. Due to the training costs, vaccinations, equipment, and the dog itself the cost is adding up quickly!! I cannot express enough how much this service pet would improve Melanie’s daily quality of life both physically and emotionally.

Melanie would never personally ask for help, however I know how many lives she has touched and made a positive impact on; myself being one of them. After a hard five years this gift for Melanie would the greatest boost not only financially but emotionally as well.
