Apollo's Heart Surgery

Apollo is a 5 year old lab mix. He is hyper, energetic, and loves attention. He loves to play ball, he is crazy for sqeeky toys and stuffed animals. He will lick you to death-which is a feature most people hate but its always been my favorite! He loves to run and play with his brother, Romeo. He can not wait to go for long walks and car rides. His favorite food is ice cream. He sleeps on the bed and loves to have his but scratched. He is the sweetest fur baby, you cam imagine.

He has been diagnosed with valley fever. Valley fever is a fungal disease that is only in the southwest US. (Dry, desert like conditions) The fungus lives in the soil and is contracted from breathing in the spores (airbourne) It is not contagious from person to person or dog to dog. Also, not all humans or dogs contract this diease.

The disease effects all dogs different and 90% of the time it's a simple diagnosis and treatment plan. But then, there is that 10% that the disease effects more severe. Unfortenately, our beloved fur-baby, Apollo, aka Apollo Bear, Bear or Baby of the house) and yes, he answers to all of those names -- is in the small percentage that it effects in more drastic ways. Without heart surgery, Apollo will not survive. He is in heatt failure and needs this surgery asap to save his life.

Apollo is family in our house and we are willing to do whatever it takes to help him .

He is scheduled next week for consultation with surgery to follow.
