Help to get a new wheelchair
Donation protected
Hello family, friends and friends of friends..
As most know, I had a motorcycle accident back in 2015 that left me paralyzed at the hips and wheelchair bound for the remainder of my life..so for the past 8yrs it's been a struggle and was forced to learn and adapt. I still during the 8yrs always put my health and needs aside to focus on the people around me, my family.. especially the past 2 years been focused on my kids mental health, at the same time went through a divorce with someone who I thought was my rock and someone I thought I would grow old and gray with... Well life had other plans and I'm ok with that. To say I have been struggling financially is an understatement, I get next to nothing for disability and have been getting the long arm of Uncle Sam since day one.. within the 8 years learning this lifestyle of being disabled and learning the ins and outs I have found out that me being disabled I'm eligible for a new wheelchair every 5 years well here we are at 8 years and I've had the same wheelchair since day one it's on its last leg. I have Medicare and Medicare alone and with my new chair that I have started the process of this year I got the call telling me that since I only have Medicare that I am responsible for 20% of the costs for the new wheelchair and that's where the goal of 3000 comes from. This new chair is just like my old chair it's not a cookie cutter style everyday run-of-the-mill wheelchair, It is a custom wheelchair fit to my measurements and my measurements alone and is built to order not mass produced. It is a manual wheelchair but it also comes with a power assist module called the Smart Drive system. So the cost of the wheelchair and the smart drive system combined is around little over $10,000... So I made this GoFundMe and hopes that I can raise the amount that's needed to get this wheelchair I describe if this wheelchair to be just like buying new shoes for somebody who has working legs and feet You don't want a shoe that's too small you don't want to shoot that's too big You want one that fits you just right so in a sense my wheelchair is my shoes It is my feet. I'm sure most would understand but at the same time I know most won't understand. But it's been hard really hard I'm not expecting anything I'm just making this GoFundMe and hopes that I can finally get the medical equipment that I so deservingly need. Even if you are not able to help by donating it doesn't cost anything to share this GoFundMe, I need as many eyes and ears as I can get to look at this GoFundMe.. I have always turned away hell in every shape and form and I have always tried to figure things out on my own but I have used up all my energy trying to figure this disabled lifestyle out and now I am here on my knees asking for help I don't ask a lot from anybody this is been hard to write all this up and to ask for the help that I need so even if it's a dollar please believe that I am more grateful and humble for any help that may come my way I appreciate any and everybody that takes the time to read this GoFundMe and possibly donate. This new wheelchair would help me have a better time dealing with the lifestyle and making my day-to-day whole lot easier.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and God bless I love each and every one of y'all
