Hey Guys,
As many of you know Felix had a liver transplant in December, a mere 8 months ago. Thankfully, the procedure went well and his body continues to accomodate the new organ . While he is experiencing intermittent issues related to the procedure, overall, his recovery is on schedule. It's been a harrowing time for Felix, his family and friends. Felix credits your prayers, well wishes and blessings for playing a crucial role in keeping his spirits up. This has aided greatly in his healing and overall recovery. He has personally expressed to me how grateful he is to have so many in his life who care about him and how truly blessed he feels.
Sadly, not all the issues he has experienced can be resolved with just our well wishes. As you know, the illness, procedure and ongoing recovery have kept our friend on the sidelines for nearly a year. This has caused him, as it would any of us, a great deal of financial distress. His insurance has helped but there are many bills, medical and otherwise, that insurance just doesn't cover.
Even with Felix back to work part time he is still experiencing financial duress.
Many of you recognized that this would be an issue and were very generous with your financial help after the surgery. Felix has, again, expressed how appreciative he was for that help.
Unfortunately, more help is needed. These are tough times for everyone. Imagine having been too sick to work for almost a year. It would be devastating. This is the predicament our friend finds himself in now. If you are able to help with any amount, $20, $30, $50 or more, it would make a tremendous difference. At the end of the week $20 dollars won't make much difference to us but it will make a huge difference to Felix.
I know that times are hard for many of us. Every penny helps. If you can help in anyway possible please do so. The size of your gift of support is irrelevant. The act is more important and will be greatly appreciated. If you find yourself unable to help please continue to keep Felix in your thoughts. This is only phase one of his lifelong journey. He will need you to keep him in your prayers as, I know, you are in his.
