Brittany is one strong woman, but life has recently thrown a few curveballs
On April 3, 2018 Brittany's spunky little cowboy, Dyllen(9), was taken by ambulance from Marshall, MN to Sioux Falls, SD for what was thought to be a bowel obstruction. Further testing warranted doctors to take Dyllen into surgery for an Intussusception of his large intestine. During surgery they discovered a baseball size tumor cradled within the colon. Along with the tumor, doctors removed his appendix, part of his small intestine and part of his colon. Brittany was given news that no mother wants to hear. Dyllen was diagnosed with Burkitts Lymphoma and transferred to The Castle.
At home, Brittany's oldest son Hayden(11) is under 24/7 complete care. Hayden was born with a rare brain malformation called Microcephaly and Semi Lober Holoprosencephaly(HPE). HPE is where the brain did not fully split in half. Therefore, Hayden does not have a right side or left side to his brain. Hayden also has spastic quad cerebral palsy, double hip displacia, as well as a feeding tube. Hayden smiles bright and big through it all!
Brittany is a single mother to these two beautiful boys, all the while building and maintaining her clientele as a Cosmotologist.
Dyllen's treatment plan is being determined by the experts at Sanford Children's Hospital. Brittany will most likely be unable to work for the next 3 weeks. minimum, while she splits her time in Sioux Falls with Dyllen and in Marshall with Hayden.
Most importantly, please lift Brittany and her boys up in prayer. Pray for a cure!
In addition, if you can donate anything to help make this journey a little less burdensome for Brittany, our family would be forever grateful. Brittany's mortgage and all her household bills will continue to come due. Hayden will need more medical care while Brittany is in another state being strong for his little brother.
