Dylan and Abbi Go to Haiti

Hi! Thanks for checking out our GoFundMe page. As some of you may know, Dylan and I are hoping to go to Haiti this December as part of a medical mission team. I recently graduated with my degree in Speech-Language Pathology, and Dylan is in his last year of graduate school for Occupational Therapy.
We will be traveling with a group of people who have deeply established relationships with the Haitian doctors, nurses, and missionaries in Cap-Haitien. While we hope to (and will) provide treatment, the ultimate goal is to facilitate the Haitian medical professionals in the care they already provide and to bring new ideas, tools, and materials that will improve the quality of the care. The goal to 'serve the underserved' has been a driving factor in our career choice(s). With a shared desire to serve children with special needs (both stateside and abroad) this trip will give us the opportunity to serve children at 'The Mason'- a hospital/school with facilities for children with special needs. In addition, we will be assisting the other members of the medical team in providing routine care visits, pregnancy care, and speech- language/occupational treatment in a rehabilitation unit.
As previously mentioned, this trip is planned for mid-December (11-17). We can't thank each of you enough for supporting us in our marriage and career choices thus far. Financial support is necessary for us to make this trip happen, and any amount is GREATLY appreciated. All funds will go directly to travel expenses and materials/tools/toys that will allow us to provide the Haitian children, doctors and medical personnel with items they need.
